Wishcasting Wednesday: What door do you wish to open?

Door Handle Zoology, by Francois Schnell

I wish to be able to open the door for ME. To be able to be who I feel I am, to do what I feel I should be doing, and still make a reasonable living doing so. I feel I should be creating, painting, crafting, drawing, reading, , exploring and etc. Not sitting behind a desk, answering computer questions.

This is a prompt from Jamie Ridler Studios. Go there, she has a lot of good points, and she’s a lovely lady :)

Full Moon Dreamboard

Inspired by Jamie Ridler’s initiative, I created a dreamboard of my own. In keeping with her blue theme for July.

I had visitors tonight, so I didn’t get to post it within the time frame of the , but here it is anyway.

Future Goals Update

First on my list of a more sustainable and healthy life, was replacing skin care products. I’ve replaced my scrub, moisturizer and facial soap with products from Lush. They have a shop in the city I work in, so I can easily get more when I need it. I plan to make them myself eventually. But this year I won’t have the time. I’ve also replaced my anti-fungal with Peppermint tea or Tea Tree Oil. Which ever is available at the time.

I’ve also put myself on a diet, and since June I’ve lost 13.5 kg. I gained 1.5 over the recent holidays, but those will be soon be gone again. In the process of healthier eating and buying better quality, I’ve replaced my tea bags with loose tea bought at Te & Kaffehuset in Trondheim. I was surprised to find the prizes being more or less the same as for the grocery store tea bags.

Tonight I’m making rags out of old clothes, to replace paper towels in the kitchen. Next on the list will be to replace all the household cleaners.
If you have any hints and tips, let me know.

As for time, my life’s a bit chaotic at the moment. But I will get back to the Rök Runes and the videos as soon as I can. Right now, I have to focus on making new products for the fairs, and running Herblore 102 in Norwegian. I’ve also become the Postmaster of the Asatru Fellowship of Norway. So I can’t say I’ve learned not to take on new things :D

Here’s the list of goals I made, so you don’t have to look for it in old posts.

Samhain Preparations – MrsB’s 31 Days of Halloween – Day 12

It’s a bit milder today, but still drizzles now and then. Today I’m continuing my research into Samhain, but I’m concentrating on food and drink. I’m definitely making an apple crumble with vanilla ice cream. I’m also having a meat stew from different meats with brown for my own supper. But what do you really love to eat at Samhain? Or drink for that matter. Let me know.

Today I’ve made my first real priority decision. I’ve decided against not joining more , and decided to quit now in stead of waiting until next term.I’m not a quitter, and maybe that’s part of my problem. But this time I really have to. I made this decision while I was trying to muster the energy needed to work on the assignment. I’ve now completely stopped on the assignment I was supposed to turn in on Sunday, and I’m going to let the teacher know later today.

Since I’ve decided to take better care of my self and do more of the ‘want tos’ and less of the ‘musts’, I’m going to think hard on what I use my energy on. I’m sure some of you also would benefit from doing this. It’s a great relief to get rid of some of the ‘musts’ in your everyday life.

If you’re interested in joining us at our Samhain , you can sign up either on Facebook, or on Heksebua.
If you sing up on Facebook, I hope you’ll take the time to fill out the
form on Heksebua as well. There are a few things we need to know. If
you’re one of those who signed up with a ‘Maybe’, please change this to a
‘Yes’ or ‘No’ as soon as you can.

Samhain Preparations – MrsB’s 31 Days of Halloween – Day 10

Today’s hasn’t been the perfect Autumn day it could have been. So we’ve been inside.

Autumn is a time for change and reflection. Because of this, I’ve written down my goals for the future.

I will not:

  • Create so much clutter.
  • Get frustrated and over things that won’t change.
  • Translate my blog posts. I will still translate the info on Heksebua, because I enjoy spreading information.
  • Sign up for more .
  • Try to .

I will:

  • Prioritize.
  • Spend less time .
  • Spend more time doing things I enjoy.
  • Make healthier choices: Eat healthier, exercise regularly = Loose weight.
  • Change the way I dress to reflect who I am.
  • Spend at least 10 time each day in quiet in nature.
  • Drink at least one cup of each day.
  • Spend at least ten minutes in each day.
  • Ground and work with shielding each day.
  • Make housework more effective and therefore less draining.
  • Try new things.
  • Let go.
  • Celebrate Blots and Esbats.
  • Do some magic at least once a month.
  • Begin a dialogue.
  • Redo my altar, my Galdrabók and my website to reflect my tradition.
  • Pay more respect towards Mother Nature (Get better at recycling etc)

These are long term goals of mine. I’m not ever going to try to pretend that I can do this all at once. Some are easy to do, others very hard. But at some point they will get done. I’m sure this list will evolve, it will get longer and more detailed, but at least this is a start.

  • In addition to this. Here’s what I’ve done today:
  • I’ve continued to research the history and meaning of Samhain, and looked at some ideas for decorations and activities.
  • I’ve done a cleansing of the downstairs rooms with sea salt and Sage. My daughter got very interested in the burning Sage. She said it smelled warm.
  • I’ve done a shielding as a defense against negativity (red with rune symbols), and for calmness (crisp blue).
  • I’ve done a major decluttering of the bedroom. It’s far from perfect, but so much more calm now.
  • I’ve done a grounding meditation, and had some Chamomile tea with Heather honey. I’m going to have some more of that in a while.
  • I’ve also watched YouTube, because I’m alone at home with my daughter, so I can use the entire bandwidth if I choose to do so.
