This is probably a perfect example of my lack of patience. I tried to use a picture from cafekikkertje.nl as reference for an acrylic painting of a frog, but rushed it a bit towards the end. I’m happy with the rock and the belly, but that’s it.

The last week I’ve been working on my first painting in many, many years. I got the idea straight out of the blue, after having a total drought for any ideas whatsoever for a long time. Now, I’m almost finished, but I’ve hit a snag. The same snag I always hit when painting faces. How on Earth do I get that nose tip right?
Here’s picture of what it looks like now. When it’s all finished, I’ll put a slide show up on YouTube. I’m quite pleased with the shadowing, but unfortunately it doesn’t really show in this picture.
I hope one of my artist friends can help me with this. I’m painting on canvas with acrylics, if that helps. It is a mixed media painting in that I’ve used glitter glue, but otherwise it’s exclusively acrylic paint.
If you have any ideas for solutions for painting the tip of a nose, send me an email, comment or send me a PM somewhere. I need to finish this, to be able to get on with the rest of the things I need to get done.
