I finished Lilith’s treasure chest last night. Not the prettiest thing i ever made, but I think it’ll be appreciated. She’s getting it as a gift for her 4th birthday on Sunday.

Made my first altar kit today. It’s going to be one of the new products in my web shop. I’ve planned two more types of altar kit. This one is the ‘alternate’ kit. It has alternate symbols for the elements used on a pagan altar. The other two are one more traditional version and one asatru version.
All three have a piece of cloth and a number of symbolic things in a cardboard box. The one I made today has a blue box and cloth. The box has floral decorations (used a glue gun). Inside is, besides the cloth, a feather for air, a match for fire, a stone for earth and a sea shell for water.
Here are some pictures of the process:

Just remembered that I have an appointment with the chiropractor tomorrow morning. I managed to send an SMS and an e-mail to my coworkers in time (well sort of). I’ve also got a few of them as friends on Facebook, so at least one has gotten the message tonight.
I tried to make some more magnets tonight, but I had to take three of them apart again. I have to print the messages and images on thicker paper, because the glue bleeds through and you can see the darkness of the magnet through the paper. I finished two flowers, which I intend to give to someone who said she loves knickknacks. I’m also going to give her an example of the other types when I get them done. One type is with acrylic ‘stones’ and the other with bubble stickers. It doesn’t cost me much to make them, and I love the expression people get when they receive a gift they weren’t expecting. It’s fun to give.

I Northern Sweden there’s a bug we call ‘sviarn’. Here’s the explanation for all the Norwegians who don’t believe that there’s something that’s a 3rd of the size of a ‘knott’ (midge), that gets through every kind of mosquito net out there, and that stings like hell when you’re bitten by it:

I’m not sure if they’re a member of Culicoides or Simuliidae. The first ones are smaller, so I think they belong there. They’re too small to compare to a picture in a book.
