Lilith turned 4 last Sunday, and had her 4 year check-up yesterday. Her paternal grandparents came for her birthday, and we had a quiet, but pleasant celebration. She got a number of gifts, mostly creative stuff.

At her check-up yesterday, she once again ended up ahead of her age group average. She can:

• Writes her full name, plus write and spell a couple of other words
• Knows most of the alphabet
• Counts to 100 with minimal help
• Counts to ten in English
• Draws people and animals
• Has a good understanding of colours and shapes
• Has a large vocabulary

She was observed for a couple of minutes before going into the office as well. And the nurse noticed she knows more than one word for square.

Her vision is well above the required limit, the same is her hearing. So nothing wrong there either. Speach and motor function are also perfect.

She's a tad taller and heavier than the curve for a 4 year-old. But not over weight.

I think I'm allowed to be a proud mama :) I just wish I could have been there. But I had to work. The only thing she refused to do, was repeat what the nurse said. Jonny explained that there's a kid with a speaking imparement at her daycare, and we've said she's not allowed to imitate. The nurse understood this, and thought it was good.

Now I just have to get her to eat vegetables. I don't really care that she doesn't like potatoes, a lot of kids her age don't. But she needs her greens.
