Newsletter 02/09
I’ve come to the conclusion that a monthly newsletter is unrealistic. There aren’t enough news to fill one each month. That’s the reason why there wasn’t one for August, September and October.
Next year I’ll try to publish the newsletter on a more regular basis though. It won’t be every month, but I’ll try to spread them evenly. If I come up with an interval that works, I’ll let you know in a later issue.
I hope you’re enjoying autumn wherever you are (or spring if you’re in the Southern Hemisphere). We’ve finished our harvest for this year. The last things we harvested from the garden were the Apples, and I’ve gathered some Chestnuts and Acorns on my way home from work. It’s snowed a couple of times, but it hasn’t settled on the ground yet.

The Web Pages
There’s a new herb description in Hekseboka: Wild Angelica. This herb is abundant where we live, and it would be a shame not to research what it can be used for.
There are also some new herb pictures: Red Clover, Common Selfheal, Plantain, Meadowsweet, Yarrow.
We’ve changed blog software from Pivot to Wordpress. Because of this, the URL has changed. Please update your bookmarks. The new URL for the News Blog is: http://heksebua.com/blogs/news
The colors of the guestbook have been changed to suite the new look of the web pages.
We’ve added some widgets to the web pages: http://heksebua.com/wiki/Misc/Widgets
Downtime
The server was down from the evening of Friday the 16th of October to early Monday the 19th of October. There was a Denial of Service attempt which used up all of our bandwidth, so the server was disconnected to make them stop trying.
Mailing list
If you’re not on this list and you’d like to receive newsletters from Heksebua, register here http://heksebua.com/mailman/listinfo/newsletter.
If you’re on this list and you do not wish to be, unsubscribe here http://heksebua.com/mailman/listinfo/newsletter.
You can also make such adjustments via email by sending a message to: newsletter-request@heksebua.com with the word ‘help’ in the subject or body (don’t include the quotes), and you will get back a message with instructions. You must know your password to change your options (including changing the password, itself) or to unsubscribe.
Normally, Mailman will remind you of your heksebua.com mailing list passwords once every month, although you can disable this if you prefer. This reminder will also include instructions on how to unsubscribe or change your account options. There is also a button on your options page that will email your current password to you.
We do have problems sending to some domains (mercurios.no, bntv.no, telia.com, tele2.no, live.se, intergenia.de,hotmail.com) because they refuse to accept mail from a domain that doesn’t have a valid reverse DNS. If you can, we ask that you use and e-mail address from another domain when you register. If you’re already registered, you can log on and change your e-mail address. Because so many of you are using e-mail addresses from the mentioned domains, we’re forced to send this newsletter via Yahoo.
